6 Things to Give for Halloween instead of Candy

This year we have been asked to participate in the Downtown El Reno Trick or Treat. We are super excited to do so! Being that I don’t really want to hand out a bunch of candy, (My kids come home with way too much and I end up taking it away from them. Yes I’m that mom!) we decided to hand out other non candy items.

This year we are giving out a skeleton that glows in the dark, a jumping spider, 2 tattoos, a whistle and one piece of candy. All packaged up in a cute little bag with a sticker logo. Being a chiropractor I just loved the idea of a skeleton! I really wanted to do a skeleton keychain so it would last longer, but 1000 keychains add up!

1. Glow in the dark skeleton

These are pretty neat! My kids have already begged me for one!

2. Jumping spider

My kids have had jumping spider races already.

3. Tattoos

These are so much fun. Who doesn’t love a fun temporary tattoo!

4. Whistles

I know whistles can be annoying, but they are fun! They also help develop your lungs. So they are a yes in my book.

5. Pirate Coins

Who doesn’t love having a gold coin?! I think these are super fun and a cute non-candy item.

6. Rubber Ducks

These dressed up rubber ducks are adorable! We have a Santa rubber duck from one of my best friends from chiropractic school and my children still love to play with it! (I have yet to let them put it in the bathtub yet!)

Chiropractic

Start reading labels. You would be surprised on where artificial colors, dyes and soy are hidden! There are other *better* alternatives for kids during the Halloween season. A little candy isn’t bad, moderation is key! It’s super easy to get a serious sugar addiction problem.

Doctors of Chiropractic can help teach you how to read labels or hold you accountable for your sugar and candy intake. Call us or a chiropractor around you for a consultation on how to become a healthier you! Diet, exercise and spinal health are the essentials to a long healthy life.
