Natural Pain Relief

It seems people are starting to switch to more natural healthcare. Which makes me so excited! Natural is the way to go. It beats a chemical laden pill that can cause other side effects in the body. It may take years to develop, but eventually something will come about due to all the chemicals!

So what can you do for natural pain relief. There are several things to take. Last blog I talked about omega 3s, you can use turmeric, cinnamon, lavender essential oil, rosemary, peppermint, ginger, bromelain. The list goes on and on. Some of my other favorites are CHIROPRACTIC CARE, acupuncture, ice therapy, massage and watching what you eat! Sugar is a huge inflammatory!

Pro-Enz

We have a product in our office called Pro-Enz. It has been shown to have good pain relief even in chronic conditions. It is formulated for extended nutritional support of inflammation management. The ingredients are a combination of bromelian, turmeric, ginger, boswellia extract, rosemary, and a lemon bioflavonoid complex and helps support patients with physically demanding lifestyles (heavy labor, athletes), as well as those subject to pro-inflammatory lifestyle factors (poor diet, stress, etc.)

Pro-Enz was formulated to address minor pain and helping with muscle tears, trauma and joint complaints. Helps address the excessive cyclooxygenases and lipoxygenases (which are responsible for nagging, constant aches and pains.) Gives your an antioxidant support and provides the active for of bromelain which helps reduce scar tissue at injury sits and return hormone levels to a healthy, anti-inflammatory state.

Bromelain is an extract derived from pineapples. It contains an ensemble of closely related, vegetable proteases (protein cleaving catalysts) which exhibit gentle anti-edematous, antiinflammatory, antithrombotic, and some fibrinolytic-like activities. Bromelain has been used clinically for many decades to aid recovery. The four most important bromelain enzymes are all “cysteine-active site” enzymes, and these all require antioxidants such as vitamin C or bioflavonoids, to maintain maximal activities.

Omega 6 (which is pro-inflammatory), are common to the modern diet. Think fast food, boxed food, things with multiple ingredients. The ratio of omega 3 vs 6 in our diet are 1:4. We need them to be more balanced to a 1:1 ratio to keep inflammation in check. Omega-6 fats are necessary for normal growth and development. They help maintain the reproductive system and contribute to hair, skin, and bones and are found in most vegetable oils (corn, soybean, and cottonseed), nuts, and animal products. Omega-3 fats play an important role in cognition, behavioral function, mood, circulation, and skin and heart health. They are found in vegetable sources such as walnuts, flaxseeds, and chia seeds and cold-water fatty fish (salmon, sardines, herring, albacore tuna, lake trout, mackerel, sardines) and algae.

Chiropractic

When you start to notice something is wrong, those symptoms are only 10% of what the body is actually doing. (Symptoms are always last! You have to have a break down in the system before you notice something is wrong first.) The other 90% is changing your posture, sending inflammation into your body and sending stress hormones into your body which produces dysfunction.

The chiropractic adjustment along with whole foods and supplementation can drastically change your life. (Diet, water, rest, all the things.) Don’t put off today what can help you tomorrow. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! Give us or a chiropractor near you a call to put you on the road to health.
