When You Need to Detox

Do you have any annoying symptoms that just won’t go away? Achy joints or muscles, brain fog, fatigue, headaches, allergies or gas? Or how about more serious problems such as autoimmune diseases, migraines, asthma, acne, irritable bowel, reflux, or arthritis?

Here are some common symptoms indicating you might have toxicity in your brain.

  • Depression
  • Headaches
  • Fatigue
  • Brain fog
  • Inability to focus
  • Numbness or tingling in Limbs
  • Nausea
  • Mood swings
  • Anxiety
  • Temper control issues

Many people are unaware that their bodies are spewing out antibodies for these toxins unless there is an obvious reaction, such as skin sensitivity. But if you clean up your toxic load, you will eliminate toxins throughout your life.

What is a Toxin?

Toxins are any substance that can be poisonous or cause negative health effects. Toxin refers to all the metals, chemicals, pollutants, artificial food ingredients, pesticides, and poisons that cause the body harm. Things like phthalates (a toxin) in nail polish, plastic, shampoos, perfume and other things are also harmful to the body.

There is no practical way to protect yourself from all the toxins in the environment. Your body’s natural detoxification processes helps with the toxins you constantly come into contact with. (They are in our water, food, air, products we use.) You can help your body perform these processes with the help of regular detoxing. Toxins build up in our bodies over years and can cause many health problems!

How to Detox

Detoxing starts with looking at your diet. You can do a “detox” diet for a short period of time, as often as you would like. There are several different detoxing diets out there, but they all have similarities.

First of all stay away from fast food, boxed food, sugar, gluten and dairy. You can also eat foods that aid in detoxing such as: garlic, lemon, broccoli sprouts, mung beans, and raw vegetables. Staying hydrated with enough water also helps flush out toxins.

Intermittent fasting can also be a healthy option, while consuming a healthy real food diet. Some people prefer to do a juice cleanse (and this isn’t boxed juice!)

Chiropractic

If you have any questions on how to do a detox or cleanse, or if you should do a detox give us or a chiropractor near you a call. You won’t believe how great you will feel when you get that junk food out of your body. You may just want to change your eating habits all together!

Chiropractic looks at whole body health and what your body is trying to tell you. Sometimes a simple detox can help you get your body back into a better working order.
